Stripes and checks are my summer prints ! Well, nothing new, but I’m particularly keen on them at the moment. Actually, without really noticing it, I started to accumulate quite a number of them : shirts, polo shirts, t-shirts, pants … these are my favourites. |

I know, I haven’t invented anything … stripes have always been in our closets and everyone wears them. The famous tennis stripe inspired by mafioso suits, the businessmen’s striped shirt, Twiggy’s polo shirts & t-shirts, sailor tops, Sonia Rykiel’s iconic stripes … the list is endless! In length or width, we all wore stripes, the proof in pictures…

You necessarily have a classic striped shirt in your closet and if you don’t, then, immediately steal one from your sweet heart who certainly has them in all colours and sizes. And if it’s a little too big for you, that’ll be even better. Mine comes from home, obviously ! |

I have a bit of an obsession at the moment with striped tees. I found some at ! Solid, they’re supposed to be for men, but never mind. Something tells me that this is just the beginning and that my collection may grow a bit this summer. Another little find : a new but vintage looking polo shirt from Indicode, yes, yes, I know, it’s also a men’s brand…

There too, I’ve got quite a nice batch of them… The striped jeans inspired by the legendary OshKosh B’gosh dungarees from our childhood that I found at Sœur. Very chic red striped pants that will be perfect with espadrilles and finally, a very patriotic version, ideal for July 14, found at Judith Lacroix.

In summer, I really like to wear ultra-light cotton pants fastened with a simple string and sometimes an elastic band, as long as it’s as thin as possible. I’ve found perfect ones at Sœur, but also at Biba where they come in all colours. There’s also a very pretty one at Ciao Lucia! that looks a bit like an old pair of grandfather’s panties, and one at Hod in red tones. And guess what ? They’re all striped !

Then, all these stripes had to cross each others a little. Maison Moismont always offers superb products and also uses very light Indian cottons, perfect when it’s very hot. In the series ‘let’s encourage craftsmanship, quality and small brands’ !

Finally, when you say checks, you say Vichy, yes inevitably ! At Biba again, I found these little blouses that come in lots of colours. And since this store is fantastic, there is also a fairly impressive selection of simple but super pretty shirts in all kinds of checks.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the theme of this letter, but as the deadline is approaching, I’m telling you about it now. On June 22 and 23, the Entrepôt will be presenting the collective exhibition ‘Le Sillage’ from the ‘Interlud’Art’ workshops, artistic spaces where teenagers meet artists who guide them in their creation. These workshops, led by Alexandra Roussopoulos and David Twoses, were set up after the lockdown, a period conducive to the psychological suffering of adolescents. These young people are also cared for in the department of Dr Mathias Gorog at the GHU medical-psychological centre. A great initiative that we can only encourage !
